Learn about Missions

Start a Missions Discipleship group at Your Church

We desire for every Christ follower to understand the story of God’s missionary purpose in the world (biblical basis of missions), present-day missions work throughout the world (contemporary missions), and the historical work of God in reaching out to all people from creation to the present time (progress of Christian missions).

As they learn they will begin to understand the difference between DIRECT MISSIONS and REPRESENTATIVE MISSIONS.

  • Imagine preschoolers in your church telling the cashier about the love of Jesus.

  • Imagine children & youth in your church stepping up for the marginalized in radical ways.

  • Imagine adults in your church serving their community no matter the cost.

When you start a missions discipleship group at your church or with multiple churches in your community, members will learn how to pray for missions, give to missions, and develop on-mission lifestyles.

Missions Discipleship Small Groups

Mission Friends® is a preschool missions discipleship group for babies through kindergarten.

Children

In our children's missions discipleship groups, kids in grades 1-6 will pray for and learn about missions workers through stories and fun activities.

Students

In our student discipleship groups, teens in grades 7-12 will learn about biblical truths and missions workers through stories, hands-on missions and more.

College & Young Adults

Missions Discipleship challenges college and career young women, ages 18-35 to uncover God's plan and purpose.

Adults

Missions discipleship empowers adults to become more effective witnesses in their world.

Christian Women's & Men's Job Corps

Christian Women's Job Corps® (CWJC) and Christian Men's Job Corps® (CMJC) seeks to equip women and men, in a Christian context, for life and employment.

Missionary Parents Fellowship

The Kentucky Missionary Parents Fellowship exists to provide a network for fellowship, encouragement, and support through engaging in prayer and sharing information.

WMU Book Club

Book clubs give us spaces as intentional learners of Jesus to not only read more but also read better. Through group conversation, participants can examine the text through multiple angles, thereby helping us gain new perspective and deeper understanding than when we read on our own. A WMU Book Club intentionally uses Missions/Evangelism books to encourage Missions Discipleship.

Churchwide Missions Discipleship Approach

Churchwide WMU
