Hands-on Missions & Evangelism

Compassion Ministries

WMU offers ongoing and short-term missions opportunities for individuals and families and through age-level missions groups or churchwide projects through our Compassion Ministries

Through each opportunity, we challenge believers to develop their personal testimony, grow in their knowledge and skills for evangelism, use practical activities to meet needs, and recognize their individual opportunities to engage in gospel witness wherever they go.

Kentucky WMU can come and speak on any of the projects listed below.

Kids: Hands-on Opportunities

Changers Kids

Changers Kids is a mini-mission trip for children entering grades 4-6 and their leaders. Through mission projects, prayer walking, camping out on a church gym floor, and using a shower trailer, children will learn skills that will prepare them for future mission trips.

Hunger Awareness Day

Hunger Awareness Day allows children’s groups statewide to create awareness and fight hunger on the same day. Join with children across Kentucky in service to others. WMU invites all children in grades 1–6 to participate each year.

Children's Missions Day

Join kids across the country in hands-on ministry in your community for Children’s Missions Day! WMU invites all children in grades 1–6 to participate each year.

Students: Hands-on Opportunities

Student Changers

Student Changers offers more than just a weeklong mission trip; we want to provide tools and training that equip your students in grades 7-12 for a lifetime of missional living. Participants engage in construction projects, times of worship, and reflection designed to help them encounter and respond to God.

Collegiate Changers

Collegiate Changers offers College Students (ages 18-25) a hands- on missions experience in 1-2 half week sessions at the end of May. Designed to empower nextgen students to see community needs and address them with gospel intentionality, Collegiate Changers equips students to embrace the Great Commission and work out their calling.

Acteens Activators

Acteens Activators serve alongside missionaries to help enhance and further the work on the field. Activators do, basically, anything the missionaries need them to do that is within the scope of the girls' skills, talents, and abilities.

Adults: Hands-on Opportunities

Adult Changers

Adult Changers is an intentional service and hands-on missions experience that helps adults 18+ put their faith into action. Serve for a weekend as you meet real needs, build meaningful relationships, and grow as followers of Jesus.

WMU Missions Trips

Mission trips are a great way to expand your witness to people and places across our state, our nation, and even around the world. We have various Mission Trip opportunities that pop-up through out the year. Check back to see where we are going.

Kentucky Baptist Nursing Fellowship

Baptist Nursing Fellowship is an organization for health care professionals to network with others through Bible study and worship; participate in mission/ministry projects; encourage and support one another through prayer; prepare for a witnessing lifestyle and provide information and encouragement about mission careers in the medical field.

Churchwide Opportunities

Christmas Backpacks

35% of Kentucky’s children live in single-parent homes. Let’s exceed the goal of collecting 10,000 backpacks from Kentucky Baptist churches! Many of the backpacks collected will be distributed directly to children living in poverty in Kentucky, while others will go to needy children in our partner SEND City, Cincinnati. KentuckyWMU partners with KBC on this project.
